The 15-member Affordable Housing Advisory Council (Advisory Council) advises FHLBank Pittsburgh on its affordable housing and community development products and initiatives.
On behalf of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Pittsburgh’s (FHLBank) Affordable Housing Advisory Council (Advisory Council), we are honored to share the impact that FHLBank, its member financial institutions, and our community partners made in our communities in 2025. FHLBank made funding available in partnership with FHLBank members to expand the affordable housing supply, assist first-time homebuyers, support small businesses, and prepare communities for the future.
In 2025, Wolfe Osborn Place was able to open its doors after receiving an Affordable Housing Program (AHP) grant from FHLBank through its member financial institution, MVB Bank. Wolfe Osborn Place provides safe apartment housing and a supportive community for women recovering from substance use disorder. They offer their residents access to case management, financial literacy classes and recovery resources.
"My mom said, 'Look at my daughter in her new house,'" said Jasmine, one of the three new homeowners celebrated at Sisters of Saint Joseph Neighborhood Network’s (SSJNN) Genesis Celebration in Erie, Pennsylvania.
After Jennifer McEntire took on additional responsibilities to care for her parents, daughter and granddaughter, she knew that she wouldn’t be able to continue her full-time job as a teacher. She needed a career that would allow her to create her own schedule to fit the needs of her family. McEntire saw this as an opportunity to create a community hub in Milford, Delaware.
Since Washington Heights, in Wilmington, Delaware, joined FHLBank's Blueprint Communities initiative (Blueprint) in 2016, they have been able to develop and implement their neighborhood revitalization plan based on the needs of the residents.
